Embrace your inner Grace Kelly whilst saving the pennies!

Vintage shopping can truly be a thrilling experience. Forgot the notion of 'second hand clothes' or buying some sixties swingers disheveled 'hand me downs'. True vintage stores can be places to indulge ones imagination, and buy into looks that are genuinely unique. The lesser price tag is merely an added bonus. Students, don't shop vintage just to save, use it as an opportunity to stand out from the crowd.. embrace your inner Grace Kelly.

Fortunately my University (City) is surrounded by some of London's most famous vintage haunts, primarily located around Camden Passage, moments from Angel tube stop. I don't regard myself as a fashion expert but luckily I do have one to hand: Style on Location, one of the most fashion forward blogs around, takes you through the area. Jade Goulden is a fabulous blogger and I hope her evocative pictures inspire you to visit this fashion-forward part of town.

PS The Breakfast Club in Camden Passage is not to be missed, and the antiques market will fulfill both your contemporary and modern accessory needs.

Hummus Bros... Middle Eastern Harmony

The Holborn/Russell Square area in London is synonymous with London Students. LSE, UCL, The London College of Fashion, amongst an array of other academic institutions, are only a stones through away. There are plenty of cafes and food chains around for a spot of lunch.. but sometimes its hard to put your finger on what your craving.

Luckily, for the abundance of students close by there is a new sensation that ticks the lunchtime criteria: quick, tasty, cheap, nutritious and eliminating the need for a long craving-related decision: Humus Brothers (Located on Southampton Row, adjacent to Bloomsbury square.)

If your a fan of middle eastern food this haunt will provide you with the most suitable lunch in town. Highly reccomended is the humus and avocado concoction... its sure to keep your brain working throughout the afternoon.

Enjoy!

Student Movie Night

On monday evening my classmates and I took a trip to watch documentary of the moment: 'The Inside Job'. But despite its critical acclaim at the Oscar's what we really couldn't resist was the great student offer at the Coronet Cinema, located in trendy Notting Hill.

A stone throw's away from Notting Hill Gate tube station, every monday the quaint, old school cinema offers student tickets for £3.50. You may think thats all very well, but by the time I've satisfied my stomach at the cinema I've already spent the equivalent of a new top from topshop! Well adding to out delight we discovered all snacks were £1.50 a pop(-corn). Sorry really bad pun.

Continue your evening at The Gate Restaurant, almost next door, and use your tastecard to enjoy top quality Asian cuisine, surrounded by London's hipster crowd.

After part at The Gate!
